Healing Art Journeys

A Series About Women, Art and Spirituality

Sunday, February 19th ~ 1:00 - 4:00pm at Sophia's Portico

" Walking with the Ghosts of my Grandmother" is the second presentation of this series. You'll discover the work of Hollis Sigler who visually confronts her illness from breast cancer. Her simple yet powerful images not only reflect her personal loss, but celebrate life as well, through the use of vivid color and playful symbols. It is an unforgettable experience to see and feel her art. To personally discover how art speaks, you will make a set of cards, incorporating your own unique symbolism. The process will acknowledge parts of your whole self and how they work together.

This series will focus on lesser known women artists and their personal and universal discoveries.

One artist per session will be presented, with visuals and handouts as well as a simple activity in the manner of the featured artist.

Cost: $30

Presenter: Carol Holmes Gordon
